Entrepreneur in Residence (Blockchain or AI)
Job Summary:
SCB 10X is a subsidiary of SCB X with the goal of creating value through investing in exponential technologies and supporting entrepreneurs.
Our team is divided into two groups: venture capital and venture building. The venture capital team invests in exponential technologies, while the venture building team supports entrepreneurs working in Web3, blockchain, deep tech, and green tech.
SCB 10X Venture Building Summary
SCB 10X's venture building team partners with entrepreneurs like you who leverage new technologies to create products people love. We co-found startups with you while providing the capital, advisory, and network support. In most cases, we invest pre-seed funds over a 6-month period and pour our hearts and souls into supporting you with all aspects of getting a new venture off the ground and succeeding.
This isn’t a “job”. If you’re ready to be a cofounder in a startup that makes a dent in the universe, then we want to talk to you. Specifically, we seek business operations founders/entrepreneurs to join our program who are then paired with other world-class cofounders such as blockchain developers, AI experts, growth specialists, product designers and more. New teams form after a brief period of founder dating and then work together to ideate, test, validate, build, and scale the next great startup.
Job Descriptions:
You will become the cofounder of a startup and we will help you build your vision, extensively augmented with our own experience and with customer feedback. All of our support is designed to help you achieve three critical things in the first 6 months (or sooner):
- Create/position the best product (differentiated value proposition, clear competitive advantage and exponential traction) in line with SCB 10X’s strategic focus areas: Blockchain, deep tech and green tech
- Build the best team possible
- Raise millions of dollars in venture funding to scale
Qualifications:
- Preferably Master’s or Doctoral’s degree
- Five or more years of experience in a managerial role, startup founding team, or technical research leadership
- Experience in Blockchain (Web 3.0, Metaverse, NFT, DeFi, etc) and / or Deep Tech (AI, machine learning, data science, etc)
- Strong experience in developing tech products and companies, ideally from the ground up, and leading them to scale or acquisition
- Experience with doing customer outreach, understanding market needs, and driving toward product market fit
- Proven record of delivering results (revenue, traction, etc)
- Has the feels to commercialize their ideas or the ideas of others
- Has clear leadership qualities, product vision, and the magnetism to attract and train talent. We are interested in candidates that can scale to be the CEO with strong leadership and management aptitude
- The ability to think strategically, and be tremendously adaptable with the foresight to think about problems ahead of time
- Experience fundraising as well as managing a Board of Directors and/or key corporate stakeholders
- Ideally previous startup or other small team experience. A proven background in recruiting and building great teams
